Clinical Supervision
Clinical Supervision
The purpose of clinical supervision is to provide support for practitioners and students in their personal and professional development. It provides a safe and confidential environment for practitioners and students to reflect on their practice, think about their knowledge and skills, and consider ways to develop in order to improve their care to clients.
Clinical supervision is offered on a weekly, biweekly, monthly, and on a consultative basis depending on the needs of the practitioner and the contractual arrangement agreed upon.
Our effective clinical supervision includes
- Interactive communication skills
- Empathy and compassion
- Flexibility when possible
- A display of confidence
- Positive attitude
- Passion for the professional
- Honesty
- Confidence
- Focus
- Creativity
Clinical supervision helps the practitioner to become more self-aware. Self-awareness is essential in the safe and effective use of self in psychotherapy; it allows one to adapt individual behaviour to different situations according to one's actual abilities.
